The sand pump delivers the ore sand to the two feed ports at the top of the spiral, and water is added to adjust the slurry concentration. The slurry naturally swirls from high to low, generating an inertial centrifugal force in the rotating inclined flow velocity. Due to the differences in specific gravity, particle size, and shape of the ore sand, the ore and sand are separated by the gravity and centrifugal force of the swirl. The concentrate flows into the concentrate bucket and is connected to the pipe. The tailings flow into the tailings bucket and are connected to the sand pool by pipes, and then discharged by the sand pump.

The FRP spiral chute is a new high-efficiency gravity separation equipment with domestic advanced level. It is used to separate fine particles of iron, tin, tungsten, tantalum, niobium, gold, coal, monazite, rutile, zircon and other metal and non-metallic minerals with sufficient specific gravity difference of 0.3-0.02 mm.
